In 1910 Theodore Renshaw was a prospector. Maude was a nurse for private families. Ellis was a labor in a box factor. Anna was a waitress in a hotel. George was a laborer in a factory. Alanson was a general delivery driver. The Theodore Renshaw Family, Hugo Settlers: ca., 1900s - 1920s Maude (Renshaw) Miller was married and living in her parents household. A Jacob W. Miller had an 80 acre cash entry tract adjacent and north of Theodore Renshaws 40 acre homestead. Relationship of Maude Miller to Jacob Miller is unknown. 1914 Renshaw Homestead On September 2, 1914 Theodore Milton Renshaw was issued a 40 acre homestead patent in Hugo, Oregon (Patent No. 06672).1-3 Theodore, and other claimants, had to prove they lived on the land for a minimum of five years, and made the required improvements before they were eligible to be issued a certificate. For a variety of reasons, the "proving up" period was five to 10 years and longer. The Applegate Trail may have went through this homestead.3 The Pleasant Valley Cemetery is approximately ¼ mile to the northeast. 1916 Elizabeth Ann Renshaw passed November 30, 1916 in Josephine County, Oregon. 1920 Census.
