WELCOME
| Evolution of HUNAHS - The
Hugo Neighborhood Association & Historical Society had its roots in the Oregon
Legislature's 1973 Senate Bill 100 and birth as the latter in 1993, it became the
Hugo Neighborhood Association. In 2000, it reorganized into the Hugo Neighborhood
Association & Historical Society. These three associations were the same
evolving organization with the primary purpose of monitoring land use applications to
assure local land laws were correctly applied. |
| HUNAHS Today - We
are an informal nonprofit charitable and educational organization composed of a voluntary
group of citizens with a land use and history mission promoting the social welfare of our
neighbors. |

| Land Use Mission -
Its land use mission is to promote the social welfare of the citizens of the area by
working to educate, preserve, protect, and enhance the livability and economic viability
of its farms, forests, and rural neighbors. |
| History Mission -
Its history mission is to educate, collect, preserve, interpret, and research its local
history and to encourage public interest in the history of the Hugo area located in
Josephine County, Oregon. |
