LAND USE
DISCLAIMER / STATEMENTS
| LAND USE DISCLAIMER |
Land use publications (e.g., letters, local
government land use comments, brochures, citizen issue papers, LUBA appeals, newspaper
articles, etc.) of the Hugo Neighborhood Association & Historical Society (Hugo
Neighborhood) are as much about providing information and provoking questions as they
are about opinions of the Hugo Neighborhood concerning land use issues and
concerns.
They do not provide recommendations to
citizens and they are not legal advice. They do not take the place of a lawyer. If
citizens use information contained in these publications, it is their personal
responsibility to make sure that the facts and general information contained in them are
applicable to their situation. The Hugo Neighborhood Association and Historical Society
assumes no liability for information provided.
| OUTDOOR RISK WARNING STATEMENT |
WARNING! There is
a personal risk the individual assumes anytime he ventures into the "wilds" of
Hugo. Just for fun let us describe the "wilds" as any place where an individual
has left paved roads. When leaving paved roads the driver is probably on a public logging
road of some sort. Please be alert as these roads can be dangerous anytime, but especially
in near vertical terrain (i.e., narrow, steep, curvy, blind corners, edge of cliff, poor
road material, overhanging vegetation, mud holes, loose rocks, changing conditions, etc.).
WARNING! Field trip sponsorship and travel publications of the Hugo
Neighborhood are about providing information and getting to know our neighborhood and
community. They are about having fun. Please remember that while having fun there are
dangerous roads and other environmental elements to prepared for: weather, potentially
dangerous plants, and critters. The big "real" common concerns are hot summer
heat, ticks, poison oak, and rattlesnakes; there are other concerns too numerous to list.
Last June 26, 2004 our hiking group saw very fresh, and very large Mountain Lion tracks up
Quartz Creek in the Grave Creek Hills.
WARNING! Sponsorship and publications are not recommendations
by the Hugo Neighborhood to citizens that an activity will be safe. In fact, if
the individual does not take reasonable prudent responsibility for his actions the
activity could easily be dangerous. If individuals go on sponsored field trips and/or use
information contained in these publications, it is their personal responsibility to make
sure that the facts and general information contained in them are applicable to their
situation. The Hugo Neighborhood assumes no liability for information provided,
nor any harm that may result from individuals traveling into the "wild."
