Water Rights

The agricultural land of the Lynch Ranch has been farmed for over 150 years starting with Augustus L. Walker (Photo 1) in the 1850s,1 and more recently by the Lynch family from 1968 - 2005.

What remains of the Lynch Ranch in 2005 has 52.6 acres of water rights (Tax Lot 1100, Sec. 2, T35S, R6W, WM. These water rights are identified in the Neely and Curry water right certificates.

Neely Water Right Certificate 46573

The Neely water right from Jumpoff Joe Creek is for 80 acres with a priority of April 1, 1889. The place of use follows.

Curry Water Right Certificate 32994

The Curry water right from Jumpoff Joe Creek is for 32.6 acres with a priority of 1904. The place of use follows.

Lynch Water Right Certificate 49047

The Lynch water right is from Jumpoff Joe Creek for 40 acres with a priority of April 1, 1889. The place of use follows.

Lynch Certificate 49047 Curry Certificate 32994 Neely Certificate 46573

The Curry water right certificate 32994 included some of the original Neely acreage. On May 1, 1963, Wiley L. Curry filed for approval of a change in pint of diversion from Jumpoff Joe Creek. In the findings it was found that C. T. Hansen had reclaimed and irrigated 32.6 acres. Water right certificate 32994 approved the diversion for irrigating the following.

20 ac SW¼ SE¼, Sec. 2, T35S, R6W, WM & 20 ac NE¼ NW¼, Sec. 11, T35S, R6W, WM with a date of priority of April 1, 1889.
30 ac SE¼ SW¼, Sec. 2, & 2.6 ac NW¼ SE¼, Sec. 2, T35S, R6W, WM with a date of priority of 1904.

More Information

The Lynch water right certificate 49047 also included some of the original Neely acreage. On April 28, 1975, an application was filed by Edward Arthur Lynch for approval of a change in pint of diversion from Jumpoff Joe Creek.
